WHAT
It’s that time of the year again when we pull out the booty shorts, clean the leaves and dead animals out of the backyard pool, turn on Oops!… I Did It Again full volume, seductively eat ice cream in a beach chair, and worry about the writing project we keep sleeping on.
This summer, Dream Boy Book Club is hosting a creative writing workshop focused specifically on any larger writing projects you’re trying to begin, continue, or complete this summer. Maybe you’re starting to compile the last year’s worth of substack posts in anticipation of building a scandalous memoir. Maybe you have a million poems and would like to start editing them together into a collection to submit this fall to small presses and contests. Maybe you have a screenplay from 10 years ago that you actually think might be worth another look. Maybe you’ve failed to finish a novel 40 bazillion times and want to try something different.
Regardless of where you are in your creative process, this workshop is designed to provide new ideas, edits, strategies, and actionable suggestions to guide your project, and motivate you to continue working on it!
We’ll meet once a week to read, critique, and support each other’s projects. We’ll discuss our writing practices, editing techniques, and publishing avenues.
We’ll also meet once individually for a ~1 hr. manuscript consultation/project planning meeting/feedback session/lit gossip/girl talk.
WHEN
(4) Wednesdays at 8pm-10pm ET from July 9th - 30th (July 9th, July 16th, July 23rd, July 30th)
and we’ll individually arrange a good time to meet for an hour to chat about your manuscript/project 1-on-1.
